Applewood Smoked Cheddar

Applewood Smoked Cheddar is a semi-firm, white cheddar made from pasteurized cow's milk.

The cheese is made with Natural Smoke Flavouring added to it (i.e., it is not actually smoked.) It is then rolled or rubbed in a mild paprika for colour on its skin.

It is made in Somerset, England by the Ilchester Cheese Company.

There are a few cheeses called "Applewood Smoked" being made in America as well. Some of them are actually really smoking the cheese, rather just just using a flavouring.
