White Sprouting Broccoli

White Sprouting Broccoli has small, white heads and slim stalks, and grows up to 4 to 5 feet (1.2 to 1.5 metres) high.

It has a very loose head, and many leafs, with small florets amongst the leaves. The florets look a bit like small cauliflower florets. Some varieties have creamy white florets; some have very pale green ones.

The heads, stalks and leaves are all edible, and have a mild flavour. The stalks taste a bit like asparagus.

White Sprouting Broccoli sets heads later than Purple Sprouting Broccoli, and doesn't bolt as quickly in heat. In a garden, you can treat it as a cut and come again vegetable if you harvest the stalks before the flowers open.

Leave large leaves on plant as a shelter for the next round of young shoots that will sprout.
